Stelara (ustekinumab) is a human interleukin-12 and -23 antagonist drug. Stelara uses in treating:
- Moderate to severe plaque psoriasis (Ps) candidates for phototherapy or systemic therapy.
- Active psoriatic arthritis (PsA), alone or along with methotrexate.
- Moderately to severely active Crohn’s disease (CD) who have failed or were intolerant to treatment with immunomodulators or corticosteroids but never failed a tumour necrosis factor (TNF) blocker or failed or were intolerant to treatment with one or more TNF blockers.

Warning & Precautions
- Therapy with Ustekinumab injection should not be initiated in patients with any clinically important active infection until the infection resolves or is adequately treated.
- Patients with Stelara injections should be evaluated for tuberculosis infection before initiating the therapy.
- The Stelara 90 mg can interfere with the usual response to immunizations. Patients should avoid live vaccines.
- Patients are advised that there is a pregnancy registry to monitor fetal outcomes of pregnant women exposed to Ustekinumab dose.
