Medical Uses
Orgovyx is a prescription medication and a first oral GnRH receptor antagonist used for the treatment of adult patients with advanced prostate cancer. It is the only androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) medication that is not an injection.
Recommended Dosage: A loading dose of 360 mg on the first day of therapy followed by 120 mg taken by mouth once a day, at around the same time each day. It may be taken with or without food. Do not crush or chew, and swallow tablets.
Warning & Precautions
- Treatment with orgovyx 120 mg should be started and supervised by specialist physicians experienced in the medical treatment of prostate cancer.
- Close monitoring of blood cell count is needed during treatment with this oral GnRH receptor antagonist.
- Do not use relugolix 120 mg tablets if you’re pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It can harm thr unborn baby and cause loss of pregnancy (miscarriage).
- Male patients with female partners of reproductive age should use apt contraception during treatment and for 2 weeks after the last dose of relugolix tablets.
- In patients with androgen deprivation therapy, Electrolyte abnormalities should be corrected. And periodic monitoring of electrocardiograms and electrolytes should be considered.
