Medical Uses
Qulipta contains the active drug Atogepant. It is a calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor antagonist used for the preventive treatment of episodic migraine in adults.
Recommended Dosage: The recommended dosage is 10 mg, 30 mg, or 60 mg taken orally (by mouth) once daily with or without food. The maximum recommended daily dose of Qulipta is 60 mg. Swallow pills whole without chewing or crushing. Take Qulipta tablets exactly as your health specialist tell you to take them.
For those with Severe Renal Impairment or End-stage Renal Disease, the proposed dose is 10 mg taken orally once daily.

Warning & Precautions

- Qulipta 10mg/30mg/60mg may be responsible for causing fatigue and somnolence in some cases. Patients should avoid performing a skilled task such as driving, and operating machinery) until they are reasonably sure that this medicine does not affect them adversely.
- Since the medicine atogepant is typically metabolized by the liver through oxidation, the use of this medicinal product in those with severe hepatic impairment should be avoided. In such scenarios, a re-challenge is not recommended.
- There is a lack of adequate human findings on the developmental risk related to the use of pills Qulipta 60 mg in pregnant women. This medicine should not be used by pregnant women unless the appropriate benefit to the mother outweighs the possible risk to the fetus.
- As atogepant may be excreted in human milk, precise caution should be exercised when Qulipta is administered to females who are breastfeeding. The possible benefit to the mother should be considered along with the possible risk to the breastfed infant.
